Dr. Hannah Ayettey Anie

Dr. Hannah Naa Gogwe Ayettey Anie is a graduate of the University of Ghana Medical School (April 2004) and a Senior Specialist Radiation/Clinical Oncologist at the National Radiotherapy Oncology and Nuclear Medicine Centre (NRONMC) at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra, Ghana where she has worked since May 2005 and served as training coordinator from 2018 to January 2022. Hannah is actively involved in the day-to-day treatment and management of oncology patients, teaching and mentoring residents in training and research. She is a peer reviewer under the Policy, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (PPME) Directorate of the KorleBu Teaching Hospital.

She is a Fellow of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons (September 2017) and is currently the Faculty Chairperson for Radiology/ Oncology and Radiotherapy at the Ghana College after having served 4 years as the Faculty secretary. Dr. Ayettey is a Project Coordinator on the IAEA RAF 0655 TC Project and the Afronet coordinator for Ghana. She is a member of the Research and Technical Committee of the Radiation Protection Institute Board, Ghana Atomic Energy Commission. Hannah is additionally a member of the African Cancer Coalition working on harmonization of the NCCN guidelines for Sub-Saharan Africa. Her administrative experience has been enhanced through virtual, leadership and health administration courses offered by the University of Washington and a program on health administrative management (HAM) she undertook at The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, GIMPA, Ghana. Her Clinical and research interests are in Breast Cancer, Head and Neck Cancers, GIT Cancers, Cancer Genomics, and Precision Oncology.

She is a member of the Ghana Medical Association and International Oncology Organizations including, AORTIC, AFROG, ESMO, ASCO and ESTRO. A member of AORTIC since 2013, Hannah was one of the first batch to be enrolled in the African Cancer Leaders Institute (ACLI) program to mentor young and promising leaders for the organization. In 2020/2021, as a member of the Research committee, she chaired the Planning committee for the first Virtual Cancer Genomics Conference in Africa organized by AORTIC. She is a member of the Cancer genomics special interest group and currently the Secretary General for AORTIC.

Dr. Ayettey is currently the President of the Breast Society of Ghana, a Non-Governmental Organization which has a vision for providing a platform for coordinated excellent breast care in Ghana.
